There are three main schools of thoughts. Each school suggests adifferent idea from the other. According to the chapter, the schoolscreate emphasis of the capabilities, and resources of anorganization, the focus on the industry, and competition, and therelationship between suppliers, distributors, and suppliers(Plunkett, 2013). As observed, each of these schools gives meaningfulpieces of advice.

As established, each of the schools of thoughts offers differentideas, opinions, and suggestions. However, it is important to notethat each of the ideas offered are of different magnitudes in termsof importance. For instance, the school of thought that offers themost useful advice is that which looks into the focus on theindustry, and competition. It is competitors that determine thesuccess or failure of any organization hence it is important to befamiliar with them (Plunkett, 2013).

  1. Where do leadership and management overlap in definition and responsibilities? Where do they diverge?

In some cases, leadership and management may overlap in definitionand responsibilities. This action is observed when there is a feudbetween the leadership and management of the organization. On theother hand, there are also those instances when leadership andmanagement diverge (Plunkett, 2013). The cases in which they divergeare observed during the need of formation of new ideas, and opinions.As a result, new ideas enable an organization to greatly develop.

  1. How does emotional intelligence differ from traditional conceptions of intelligence? What is the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership?

Emotional intelligence incorporates the understanding one’semotions as well as those of others. On the other hand, traditionalconceptions of intelligence lean toward the intelligence quotient ofan individual rather than others. Seeing as emotional intelligenceinvolves understanding other people’s emotions as well, it isgreatly related to leadership. For success, leaders need to be incontrol at all times, and emotional intelligence gives rise to this(Plunkett, 2013).

Organizational culture entails those actions, and values that bringabout the different social, and physical environment of anorganization. In addition, organizational culture incorporates theexpectations, rules, and regulations that keep the organization incheck. It also includes the shared ideas by the members which make itpossible for the organization to move forward (Miner, 2001).

  1. What are artifacts and how might they play a role in organizational change?

Artifacts are part of organizations, and they range from information,objects, and all the physical aspects present in an organization.Through the artifacts, it is possible to learn about the culture oforganizations. It is this culture that assists in the growth oforganizations, and for this reason, artifacts give rise to growth,and development of organizations (Miner, 2001).
