Thedifferent aspects of food served in a restaurant obviously have animpact on the customers. They are the most important factors thatensure that customers come back to the restaurant. However, there arenonfood dining experiences that can influence customer decision tocome back to the restaurants. One of the most important diningexperiences is the ambient and lighting in the restaurant. This isone of the most important aspects that need to be considered duringthe planning process. The ambient and lighting may determine thesuccess or failure of an organization. The ambient can be describedas the atmosphere or mood in the restaurant. Although there are manyfactors that are related to ambient, such as decors and music, lighting is an important element of the ambient. The lighting in therestaurant is dependent on they type of restaurant. For example, adimmer light may create a cozier and intimate environment. Thedistribution of light in the dining room has an impact on diningexperience. For example, it would be inappropriate if customers insome tables feel like they are under a spotlight. I consider theaspect of lighting in the restaurant ambient because it needs to becapture in the restaurant design. Although it has a huge influence oncustomer experience, it may be inappropriate to alter the lightingfrequently. Therefore, the management should consider the lightingaspect of the ambient and design it in such a way that it fits indifferent occasions to maximize on the customer’s experience. However, lighting should not be limited to overhead lighting. Beingcreative, for example, using chandeliers on the dining tables canimprove customer experience significantly.
